Human Trafficking and Hope – Ed Smart
Edward Smart advocacy began after his daughter, Elizabeth, was abducted from their home in Salt Lake City Utah in 2002. She later miraculously returned home. Edward also advocates for the public’s understanding of the re-victimization of survivors by people accusing them of not getting away when they appeared to have had the chance.
Since beginning this fight for children, Ed, along with other children’s safety advocates, lobbied Congress and Senate seeking passage of the National Amber Alert plan, the Adam Walsh Act and The Protect our children Act of 2008.
